Asbestos Drop Off
This facility is for household cement-bonded asbestos only. If you have cement-bonded asbestos, you must contact your local District Council. They will provide, upon request, a special bag for you to put the cement-bonded asbestos in. Once bagged, the asbestos can be taken to one of the AmeyCespa (East) sites at Alconbury, March or Waterbeach, where a special skip is provided.
Please note, household cement-bonded asbestos can only be accepted so long as the procedure set out below is followed. AmeyCespa staff will not be able to help unload bagged asbestos from cars so please do not over load bags. Asbestos not contained in the required bags supplied by the District Councils will be rejected.

Asbestos Disposal Procedure Each District Council has an allocated person who will manage household asbestos disposal enquiries; please telephone your Council first to discuss your requirements. The nominated person for each district is detailed in the module on the right. The householder must visit their local District Council office with proof of residency e.g. a household utility bill or council tax bill. You will be asked some questions about the waste to confirm that it is from a household source and proof of residency is checked. The District Council representative records the information provided, which must include:
The District Council representative then assigns an individual authorisation code to the householder. This code is recorded with the other information and is written on all of the bags to be used by the householder for the deposit of household asbestos. The District Council representative informs the householder that a maximum of two sheets per bag applies. A sticker noting this point is then adhered to each bag provided. Relevant information is recorded and summarised on a standard form and e-mailed to AmeyCespa’s weighbridge, so they are aware of the potential delivery of asbestos. You then need to bag up the asbestos, without breaking it and seal each bag; then take the bags to your chosen AmeyCespa deposit point. You must call at the weighbridge first and AmeyCespa’s operator will record your name, address, authorisation code and number of spare bags. He/she will then supervise the unloading of the asbestos waste. Any bags without an authorisation code will be rejected. Any unused bags from the Council must be left with AmeyCespa staff at the weighbridge. When all of the bags have been off loaded the householder will visit the out weighbridge to collect a receipt, which will be produced by the weighbridge operator. The householder may then leave the site. When the asbestos container at each AmeyCespa site is full, it will be weighed out and transported to a suitably licensed disposal point.
